PARIS – June 10, 2019 – Asmodee Digital, a leader in digital board game entertainment, is pleased to announce The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game will be released on consoles on August 8th, 2019.

The first adventure card game set in the quintessential fantasy world of J.R.R.Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game offers solo and cooperative adventures based on card battles. The game combines a strong immersive narrative experience with in-depth strategic challenges that will put players’ tactics to the test.

  • Adventure card gaming: Players can experience the only solo card card game that puts them in the shoes of an adventurer in Middle-earth. They will craft their own stories in the rich world of Tolkien by engaging in solo card-based battles or in collaborative campaigns with a friend in co-op mode.

  • A new story in Middle-earth: Gamers can craft and discover new stories in the world depicted in J.R.R. Tolkien’s books. They can build a fellowship of heroes from some of the most iconic characters and wage battle in the most famous locations of the Third Age of Middle-earth.

  • A unique way of delivering new content: Players can obtain boosters that provide both new cards and new solo quests to play them in, forging their adventures in Middle-earth.

  • Unique game mechanics: Players build a deck of 3 heroes and challenge themselves along with friends to complete quests & defeat the forces of Sauron. They can use will points to solve quests and progress in their story. Growing their Fate Pool will allow them to trigger contextual abilities during battle, while Sauron is also growing a Threat Pool to throw up roadblocks at their strategies.

Thanks to the feedback provided by players during its Early Access phase, The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game features a finely tuned UI, tutorial, as well as refined gameplay mechanics. Staying true to the J.R.R. Tolkien universe and inspired by the physical card game, Asmodee Digital will welcome players to live the most immersive, yet challenging, adventures in Middle-earth.

Dized announces Blood Rage, 7 Wonders, Carcassonne, and Bang! to be first games to get custom Dized tutorials. The IndieGoGo campaign for the app launches on August 28th.

[Helsinki, Finland, July 27, 2017] If you ever just wanted to pick up a brand new board game, sit down and play straight out of the box, soon you will be able to. Dized is an application that puts players in the game from the moment the box is opened with interactive tutorials. These step-by-step guides are like a friend at the table who knows the rules inside out and the best way to teach them. Most importantly, the app allows players to make their own decisions and choices and reacts accordingly.

The company announced today the initial line-up of interactive tutorials slated for the app. The first games to receive the Dized treatment are Blood Rage, 7 Wonders, Carcassonne and Bang! In the works are tutorials and other content related to these games, such as the setup and the rule lookup tools.

“We’re thrilled to be working with such esteemed titles and publishers. The diversity of this library shows that Dized works with a variety of different games, ranging from casual to core. Eventually, we want to bring these tutorials for all games out there, and that’s one of the reasons why we’re crowdfunding Dized through IndieGoGo – to be able to scale up in a way we wouldn’t otherwise be able”, states Dized CEO Jouni Jussila.

“We’ve discussed with players from all backgrounds and one thing is clear: there is a need for a better way to learn games. Dized has already been tested with audiences and the feedback has been spectacular, not just among players but with all branches of the industry,” Jussila continues.

Dized’s partners include some of the biggest names in board game industry, such as dV Giochi, Hans Im Glück and acclaimed designer Eric M. Lang.

“If you love playing games and don’t like reading rulebooks, there’s no reason for you not to support Dized right now. Dized is different from a regular “How To Play” video, because videos aren’t context sensitive. With Dized you can experience the game as you are learning it. You can even ask it rule- related questions,” Eric M. Lang explains.

Dized is free to download and available before the campaign starts with demo content. During the campaign, backers will be able to purchase subscriptions that give access to premium features. On top of the interactive tutorials, rule lookup, and setup tools, the team has big plans for Dized. The goal is to create the ultimate companion app, no matter if you’re looking for community features, expo tools or additional digital content.

Eclipse: New Dawn for the Galaxy is coming to Steam. Based on the exceptional board game from Big Daddy’s Creations, the app on iOS has been around for a while and gets a ton of play. Now, it is coming to Android, Mac and PC via Steam. Improvements are also coming to the existing iOS app, which will see an update presently.

From the press release: Alliances are shattering, and hasty diplomatic treaties are made in secrecy. A confrontation of the superpowers seems inevitable – only the outcome of the galactic conflict remains to be seen. Which faction will emerge victorious and rule the galaxy?

Eclipse places you in control of a vast interstellar civilization, competing for success with its rivals. Also noted about the development on the BDC blog:  Online multiplayer was rebuilt from scratch using a third-party solution called GameSparks. The developer says this should be more robust and flexible, which means less downtime and more quicker enhancements in the future. This also allows cross-platform support so PC/Mac challenging iOS/Android players is now possible.
